Madhuri M. Vasudevan, MD, MPH is Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and Director of the Diabetes Program at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Rice University with Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, she received Masters in Public Health from University of Texas Health Science Center and Doctorate of Medicine from University of Texas Houston Health Science Center. She completed Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Vasudevan has cultivated a clinical program centered on innovative clinical care delivery, CGMS and insulin pump therapy and patient safety. She created the first electronic consultation service and gained recognition for expertise in insulin pumps and sensors. She was nominated to serve as Physician Champion of the MOVE! weight management program and VA regional level Subject Matter Expert in Endocrinology. She attends both inpatient medicine and endocrine services and conducts clinical research on insulin pump and CGMS therapy in a diverse veteran population. She is an invited speaker at local and national conferences and is published in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Vasudevan’s professional goals include delivery of evidence-based diabetes and endocrinology care, integrating innovations in clinical care delivery and developing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, device-driven diabetes program. She is committed to fostering a program to meet the growing needs of veterans with general endocrine disorders. Dr. Vasudevan is the recipient of the Baylor College of Medicine Rose Norton Fulbright Award for Excellence in Teaching and Evaluation, Star Award for Clinical Excellence, and the Department of Medicine Women of Excellence Award. Dr. Vasudevan has been appointed as one of three Vice Chairs to the Diabetes State Network of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and represents AACE as a member of the Time in Range Coalition.
