Dr. Alex Stagnaro-Green is the Regional Dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and Professor of Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Medical Education. He received his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1983 and performed his Internal Medicine Residency at New Jersey Medical School and a fellowship in Endocrinology & Metabolism at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is an internationally known researcher in the field of thyroid and pregnancy. In 1990, he published the seminal article linking thyroid antibody positivity in euthyroid women to a doubling of the rate of spontaneous miscarriage, and was lead author of the 2011 American Thyroid Association Guidelines on Thyroid and Pregnancy. Dr. Stagnaro-Green received a Masters of Health Professions Education in 2005 and a Masters of Healthcare Administration in 2017, both from the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
