Dr. Agarwal is an endocrinologist and obesity medicine specialist, and Director of the UAB Obesity Medicine Fellowship Program. She is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham(UAB). She is board certified in internal medicine, endocrinology, and obesity medicine. She did her Master of Medicine Education in Health Professions from the Johns Hopkins School of Education. She is the parenteral nutrition specialist at the Birmingham VA medical center. She is Chair of the AACE Disease State Network for Obesity and Nutrition and Vice-Chair of the Education Oversight Committee. In addition, she has served on several regional and national committees at the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE), The Obesity Society (TOS), the American Society of Nutrition (ASN), and the American Society of parenteral and enteral nutrition (ASPEN).
