Suzanne Ziemnik, MEd is the Chief Officer, Learning and Educational Research at the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Ziemnik has been with ASCP for 17 years and is responsible for the oversight of over 400 continuing professional development activities as well as books and journals delivered annually in surgical pathology, clinical pathology, and all areas of laboratory medicine for pathologists, residents, and laboratory professionals. She also leads the ASCP Corporate Development Office and co-leads the ASCP Center for Health Services Research. She has been in the field of Continuing Medical Education (CME) for over thirty years working for medical specialty societies starting at the American College of Chest Physicians and then moving onto the American Academy of Pediatrics where she worked until assuming her position at the ASCP in 2005. Suzanne has been a member of the Alliance for CME since 1987 and has held numerous positions including: Member, Board of Directors; Chair and Co-chair, Annual Conference Planning Committee; Chair, Professional Development Committee; Chair, Specialty Society Special Interest Group; Member, Governance Committee; Member, Task Force on the Certification of CME Professionals; Member, Task Force on CME Advocacy and Advancement; Co-chair, Alliance for CME Institutes; and Member, Subcommittee on Competencies for the CME Professional. Suzanne was a founding member of the Illinois Alliance for CME and is a member of the Society for Academic CME.
