Have you ever had an idea and wondered what should you do next? Or thought, I am not on any committees within the Alliance so my idea won’t go anywhere? This session is going to demonstrate to the participants that their ideas matter and have a path to come to fruition.
The Alliance Mentoring Program is the most recent example of how individual members can have a tremendous impact on the membership of the Alliance. During this session, we will present how the Mentoring Program became an active program – initial conversation with a member of the Alliance Board of Directors and was ushered through and became a Task Force and then eventually a pilot. This program provides a unique roadmap for other members to bring ideas to fruition.
We will use this session to review areas that are currently a focus of the Membership Committee as well as brainstorm other areas for improvement within the Alliance. Members will be broken up into small groups and given an individual idea to create an Action Plan for Alliance ideas that will then be presented and voted on during the session. Action Plans should provide significant background information and identify key next steps in order to bring this idea to reality within the Alliance. Individual Action Plans will be presented to the group and go through a nominal process and the winner will be presented to the Membership Committee.
Innovation: We are looking to harness the creativity of the Alliance Membership and utilize a grassroots campaign to continue to make the Alliance relevant to individual members.
