Dr. Patrick Gurian is a professor of environmental engineering at Drexel University. He completed his doctoral studies at Carnegie Mellon University in Engineering & Public Policy and Civil & Environmental Engineering. His research interests are in quantitative microbial risk assessment and regulatory decision making under uncertainty. He serves on the editorial board of the journal AWWA Water Science and as chair of the Microbial Risk Assessment Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis. His work on point of use treatment for drinking water was recognized with the Publications Award from the American Water Works Association.
