A new standard, ASCE 7-22 has recently been published. The wind load provisions in this standard will be adopted into the 2024 International Building Code which in turn will be adopted by individual states and local municipalities. This new standard has been issued after 6 years and contains several additions and updates to the previous wind load standard. One of the major changes includes incorporation of tornado loads. This course will present the changes and updates in the new standard, their effect on the wind loads on building components and cladding and their impact on claim handling and adjustments.
