Hi, my name is Valerie Lew and I am an Advanced Emergency Ultrasound Fellow and Clinical Instructor in Emergency Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. I use point of care ultrasound (POCUS) at work on a daily basis and understand the power it has at the bedside. POCUS is also beneficial in non-traumatic cardiac arrests where transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) can help with real time resuscitation. POCUS also incorporates nerve blocks which complement procedural anesthesia and can be a multi-modal pain option. The benefits of POCUS are endless!
