Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
St. Boniface Hospital
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada
Gurinder has worked as a full-time sonographer for ten years at the prestigious tertiary St. Boniface hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Gurinder likes to learn and teach his colleagues, ultrasound students, and radiology residents. To better understand today's healthcare, he joined an MPH program in 2019 affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan. He is in the program's final term and will graduate in the spring of this year. Gurinder is also an international medical graduate (IMG) and is currently pursuing a radiology residency match in the United States and Canada. He started preparing for both countries' medical licensing board exams in 2018 and passed all four steps of the USMLE and the three MCC exams in his first attempt by the summer of 2021.
Besides the full-time job requirements and academic responsibilities, Gurinder is keenly involved in research-oriented activities. Currently, he is waiting to hear about two of his manuscripts which are undergoing the peer review process. Today's presentation is heavily based on one of his publications from last year about the TRAP sequence. (doi: 10.1016/j.radcr.2022.02.057)
