Dr. Nacey received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and medical school degree from the University of Virginia. Following medical school, he returned to his hometown of Chicago to obtain his residency training in diagnostic radiology at Northwestern University. He then returned to the University of Virginia to obtain subspecialized training in musculoskeletal radiology and interventions. He joined the faculty within the musculoskeletal radiology division at the University of Virginia in 2013.
Dr. Nacey has served as the chief of musculoskeletal interventions since joining the faculty. He supervises the large number of joint injections, spine injections and biopsies performed by the musculoskeletal imaging division. His clinical and research interests include fluoroscopy guided pain interventions, musculoskeletal biopsies, musculoskeletal ultrasound guided diagnostic exams/ interventions, and nerve imaging. He also serves as the medical director of the outpatient musculoskeletal imaging center as well as the musculoskeletal radiology fellowship director.
Dr. Nacey spends his spare time with his family, which includes four children. He also enjoys the many outdoor opportunities afforded by living in Central Virginia.
