Jessica M. Jewell MAT, ATC, CSCS is a second-year medical student at Washington State University's Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine (ESFCOM). With a background as a Certified Athletic Trainer, her Allied Health experiences largely centered around the sport of baseball including multiple years as a Head Athletic Trainer in the Atlantic League as well as with the NCAA Division I Long Beach State Dirtbags. Pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery, she has a continued passion for Sports Medicine, including injury prevention, orthopaedic intervention, and rehabilitative medicine.
A member of the Ultrasound Task Force at ESFCOM and current president of their Ultrasound Student Interest Group, Jessica worked with faculty and peers to successfully integrate ultrasound into the medical education curriculum. She also assumed a leadership role in organization and orchestration of WSU Spokane's annual UltraFest, a multi-institutational ultrasound event designed to provide medical students with hands-on exposure to the diverse application and utility of ultrasound accross medical specialties.
