Chady Omara, BSc, is an MD-PhD research candidate at the department of Neurosurgery at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), The Netherlands. The focus of his research lies in the spinal manifestations of achondroplasia. Specifically, the development- and treatment of thoracolumbar kyphosis and foramen magnum stenosis in children with achondroplasia. Currently, Omara is partaking a research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, to develop a prediction model algorithm which identifies pre-operative risk factors for achondroplast patients that undergo spinal deformity correction.
