Saad Javeed, Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Neurosurgery, Washington University in St. Louis. I am a Postdoctoral Fellow primarily interested in spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve research. After completing my medical school, I have dedicated my career to pursue neurosurgery research training and eventually neurological surgery residency. My ultimate goal is to become an independent investigator focused on translational and clinical outcomes research in spinal cord injury and peripheral nerve. My basic science work is focused on identifying non-invasive biomarkers of chronic nerve entrapment and developing bioresorbable electronics to induce bone regeneration and fusion. My clinical research has been focused on establishing indications, optimal timing, and treatment algorithm for nerve transfers in cervical spinal cord injury. Additionally, I am passionate towards characterizing the prognosis following cervical spinal cord injury.
