Richard L Price III, MD, PhD is currently a neurosurgeon at Spine Nevada and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Nevada-Reno School of Medicine in Reno, NV. He is originally from Dayton, Ohio. He is a lifetime Buckeye having earned a B.S, M.D, and Ph.D. all from The Ohio State University. After his undergraduate degree, he was awarded a J. William Fulbright Scholarship to perform research at the Spanish National Cancer Center in Madrid, Spain. After returning from Spain, he matriculated into the Medical Scientist Training Program at Ohio State. He obtained his PhD in neuro-oncology under the mentorship of Dr. Nino Chiocca. He completed a residency in Neurological Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. in residency. During residency, Dr. Price spent seven months as a registrar of Neurological Surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. After residency, he concluded his surgical training with a complex and minimally invasive spine surgery fellowship at Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, WA. Dr. Price specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spine deformity surgery. He has recently integrated augmented reality into his practice. His research interest is expanding the role of augmented reality technology in spine surgery to perform safer and more accurate surgery with less radiation exposure.
