Dr Visagan Ravindran, BSc(Hons) MRCS(Eng) FHEA, is a neurosurgery resident (year 6) and PhD fellow in St George's Hospital, London, England.
As the McKissock & Royal College of Surgeons of England Research Fellow, and final year PhD candidate in the Saadoun-Papadopoulos Lab, his research focusses on "Evaluating novel monitoring techniques in acute traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) to improve neurological outcomes"
Areas of study with clinical applications include: (i) spinal cord tissue oxygen monitoring, (ii) the adverse effects of fever following TSCI, and (iii) the effect of spinal cord perfusion on respiratory dysfunction.
