Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Mayo Clinic Rochester
Asimina Dominari, MD, is an incoming postdoctoral research fellow at the Mayo Clinic Neuro-Informatics Lab led by Dr. Mohamad Bydon, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Dominari graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine in Greece in July 2022. She has authored 10 peer-reviewed publications and 12 conference abstracts as a medical student, and has collaborated with both international and US-based research teams. Asimina aspires to become a neurosurgeon in the United States, and is especially oriented towards pursuing an academic career. In the coming 2-3 years, she is planning to focus on developing a strong academic skill set, and to delve deeper into research pertaining to neurosurgical outcomes, spinal cord injury, and spine biomechanics. She is hoping that this way she will be able to build on her CV and become a well-rounded candidate for US residency. Outside of neurosurgery, Asimina likes to learn languages and explore different cultures by meeting and communicating with native speakers, and by trying traditional cuisines.
