Angela Petrosky MPAS, PA-C is a clinical professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She works in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the Program for Spine Health. She was previously employed for nearly 7 years in the Department of Neurological Surgery specializing in both traditional and minimally invasive spine surgery. Angela is a team member in the Program for Spine Health, which is a program that specializes in non-operative care of the spine, joint and other neuromusculoskeletal disorders. The Program for Spine Health promotes a patient-centered approach with a variety of providers to help patients regain or optimize their ability to pursue meaningful activities in their lives. Angela combines her neurosurgical expertise and rehabilitation skill set to guide patients through the process of treatment options for patients with acute and chronic spine pathology. This includes management through non-surgical treatment and health optimization prior to consideration of surgical intervention. She has a special interest in patient education with a focus on helping patients understand the multifactorial causes of pain.
