Hesham's journey to becoming a surgeon began in high school when he was accepted into a combined BS/MD program at The George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, DC. During his time in medical school, Hesham excelled academically and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) – Honor Medical Society.
After completing medical school, Hesham went on to complete his intern year at The University of Michigan (UofM) in Ann Arbor, MI, and continued on to a Neurosurgery Residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. During his residency training, Hesham's passion for research led him to win several local, regional, and national awards for his research, including the Gold Humanism Honor Society in 2020, the CNS Resident Award in 2019, and the Charles Kuntz Award in 2018 and 2019.
Following his residency, Hesham further honed his surgical skills through a Complex Spine and Spine Oncology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was mentored by the esteemed Nicholas Theodore.
Today, Hesham has brought his exceptional talent and expertise to California Pacific Medical Center, where he provides high-quality and compassionate spine surgery to patients in the San Francisco Bay Area.
