Dr. Halfteck is a Breast Surgical Oncology fellow at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas. She completed a research fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital and at the University of Miami in Florida. She is a board certified general surgeon (Israel), and has practiced as an attending breast surgeon in Jerusalem for two years prior to starting fellowship training. Dr. Halfteck received her MD summa cum laude and PhD in molecular immunology from the Hadassah School of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. Her PhD research focused on Natural Killer (NK) cells immune-mediated recognition and eradication of tumors. Dr. Halfteck is an enthusiastic clinician and believes in combining clinical work and research insights in order to enhance our understanding of breast cancer pathogenesis and progression and to better personalize breast cancer treatment.
