My training combines rigorous clinical experience as a general surgery resident, and cutting-edge research studies as a PhD graduate student in the field of Molecular, Cellular & Integrative Physiology (MCIP). Upon completion of my training, I aim to become a surgical oncologist dedicating my time both clinically and scientifically towards the advancement of care for patients suffering from soft tissue malignancies.
I completed my undergraduate work at The University of Iowa in 2010. I received my medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2014. Concurrently, I completed a Master’s degree in Genomic Medicine.
My research focus includes disparities in cancer diagnosis and management, cancer metabolism, mitochondrial bioenergetics, development of novel targeted therapies, and the implementation of early phase clinical trials.
