Tim is a third-generation surgeon, originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He completed
undergraduate education at Colgate University, followed by medical school at Jefferson Medical College.
From there, he completed internship, residency, and a T32 Research Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at
the University of Virginia Department of Surgery. Since residency, Tim has completed a fellowship in
Complex General Surgical Oncology followed by a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Fellowship at the
University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Tim is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson
Cancer Center where he specializes in complex Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery and Surgical Oncology. His
research focus is on the biologic factors that impact outcomes for patients with CLM, novel biomarkers
for patients with hepatobiliary malignancies, and a particular interest in the design and conduct of
prospective clinical trials.
