Prioritizing patient-centered, individualized care planning in his practice, Dr. Casey Allen’s specific interest is in the implementation of evidence-based treatment pathways and preoperative optimization programs for his surgical patients. At Allegheny Health Network, he collaborates with institutional leaders to develop a value-based clinical research platform to improve care delivery to all patients.
Dr. Allen completed his fellowship in surgical oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. With his focus in value-based health care delivery, Dr. Allen has published over 70 research papers, has been the lead author for numerous book chapters and has been invited to speak at various national meetings. He certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Complex General Surgical Oncology.
