Dr. Jason M. Foster is Professor of Surgery at the Fred and Pamela Buffet Cancer (FPBCC) at the University of Nebraska in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery. Dr. Foster earned his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania and medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He completed general surgery residency at the Case Western Reserve/University Hospital Cleveland Ohio followed by surgical oncology fellowship training at Roswell Park Cancer Institute Buffalo New York.
His first faculty appointment was at Creighton University Omaha Nebraska. Then Dr. Foster joined the faculty at the University of Nebraska to develop regional cancer therapies and complex gastrointestinal malignancies programs. His research focuses on peritoneal metastasis clinical outcomes, clinical trial development, and collaborative translation studies identifying/exploring pathways involved in peritoneal metastasis in appendix, colorectal, ovarian, and mesothelioma. Dr. Foster serves on the board of directors Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF), ECOG working group for surgical clinical trial development, and editorial board member for the Annals of Surgical Oncology and Journal of Surgical Oncology.
