Alexander A. Parikh, MD, MPH, FACS, FSSO is Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery and the Peggy Pitman Mays Distnguished Chair in Cancer Research at the University of Texas Health San Antonio MD Anderson - Mays Cancer Center. He is also the Chief Surgical Officer and Chair of the Cancer Surgery Service Line.

His surgical practice is focused on caring for patients with malignancies and complex diseases of the pancreas, hepatobiliary, and gastrointestinal systems. His primary research interest is in disparities in cancer care and outcomes, particularly as it pertains to health insurance and social determinants of health as well as comparative effectiveness research of multimodality regimens.
