General Surgery Resident

Dr. Anna Louie is a general surgery resident at Duke University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Brown University and attended medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. During medical school she completed the Medical Research Scholars Program at the NIH. She started her general surgery training as a categorical resident at Brown University in and completed two years of research in the lab of Dr. Wafik El-Deiry studying the impact of immunotherapy on TRAIL pathway inhibitors in pancreatic and colon cancer, as well as predictors of metastatic disease in breast cancer. In 2022 she transferred to the general surgery residency at Duke University to be closer to her husband, who is completing his palliative care fellowship at Duke. She is interested in pursuing a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology and will be applying during the 2024 CGSO fellowship match.
