Dr. Mediget Teshome is an Associate Professor of Breast Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where she is a clinical breast surgeon with expertise in the surgical and multidisciplinary management of breast cancer.
Currently, she is the Program Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship providing program leadership, clinical and operative teaching as well as research and career mentoring to young surgeons. At M.D. Anderson, she serves on several institutional committees committed to education/training, faculty career development, diversity, equity and inclusion as well as professionalism. She is also a member of several surgical professional societies currently serving as the Vice Chair for the Publications Committee of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Chair of the Education Committee for the American College of Surgeons Cancer Surgery Standards Program.
She has committed her career to advancing the care of women and men with breast cancer through high quality clinical care, collaborative clinical research, educating the next generation of leaders in Breast Surgical Oncology and improving equity in healthcare and society.
