Undergraduate Student
Department of Biomedical Engineering, Johns Hopkins University
I am a freshman at the Johns Hopkins University majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics. I plan to pursue a MD-PhD to combine aspects of applied mathematics, biophysics, engineering, and computation with medicine. I am attracted to surgical oncology as it is a growing field that combines advances in surgical technology with translational research. Specifically, I will use this combination of basic science/theory with practice to address challenges in surgical oncology like genetic analysis of cancers and data mining to quantify clinically-relavent patterns, such as this current work. I am also involved in basic research in protein engineering to optimize PCR for epigenetic maintenance.
