I am a PGY5 general surgery resident at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I recently completed a two-year basic and translational science research fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Sam Wang. On the basic science side, we are interested in understanding the function of ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, and how mutations in ARID1A impact gastric cancer progression and modulation of the tumor microenvironment. On the translational science side, we are interested in identifying novel prognostic and predictive biomarkers for gastric and gastroesophageal junction cancer.
