Abimbola Oyedeji is completing the second year in the postdoctoral research associate position in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Department of Surgery, at the Washington University in St. Louis. He is a general surgery resident at the University Hospital of West Indies – Kingston Public Hospital, Jamaica, and received his medical degree from the Windsor University School of Medicine, St. Kitts.
His main research interests include: (1) understanding the mechanism of cancer metastases and assessment of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities by utilizing in vivo small animal metastatic models. (2) Developing an optimal individualized in vitro model system for pre-treatment evaluation of the efficacy and safety of cancer therapeutics using patient derived organoids on microfluidic devices (tumor-on-a-chip).
