Dr. Lauren Westcott earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. As part of the guaranteed medical school admissions program, Dr. Westcott then went on to complete her M.D. degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she served as Class President and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
After medical school, Dr. Westcott moved to Dallas, Texas, and is currently a chief surgical resident at Baylor University Medical Center. Following residency, Dr. Westcott will be staying at Baylor for a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology.
During her surgical training, Dr. Westcott also earned her M.B.A. degree from the American University Kogod School of Business. She has a strong interest in medical leadership and medical device development.
Dr. Westcott has presented her research at numerous surgical conferences and has authored peer reviewed publications and textbook chapters. She serves as a reviewer for the British Medical Journal. Her research interests include breast surgery, oncoplastic reconstruction, and surgical history.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Westcott enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, musical theatre, exercise and interior design. She is looking forward to the exciting SSO program in Boston!
