Dr. Yosef Nasseri completed his general surgery training, including dedicated research years, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and thereafter, completed his colorectal fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida. He has been involved in multiple national societies for over 10 years. In American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeon (ASCRS), he has served on 3 different committees: Young Surgeon's committee, CREST committee, and public relations committee. He is the upcoming chair of the communications committee. He has served as the secretary and treasurer of the Southern California Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Furthermore, he serves as a governor for the American College of Surgeons. He has served on the robotic steering committee in the Society of Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and chairs the communications committee in Southwestern Surgical Congress (SWSC).
Dr. Nasseri has formed and lead the Surgery Group of Los Angeles Research efforts and foundation. For the past 8 years, he has mentored more than 30 students who spend 1-2 gap years between undergraduate and medical school with him conducting a multitude of outcome clinical research projects. These students have published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and presented their work at various national medical and surgical societies. The vast majority of these students have ben accepted to medical schools and some are already in residency programs.
Dr. Nasseri has authored almost 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 5 book chapters. He has had an upwards of 70 oral podium or poster presentations in about 10 national societies and delivered over 20 invited lectures. He has been a journal reviewer for: “Gastroenterology Report”, “Techniques in Coloproctology”, American Journal of Clinical Oncology”, “Inflammatory Bowel Disease”, “Clinical Investigations”, “The American Surgeon”, “Diseases of Colon and Rectum”, and “Colorectal Disease”. He is also on the editorial board of General Surgery News.
