Dr. Yongwoo David Seo (Dave) is currently in his dedicated T32 research year of fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He will be completing his CGSO fellowship in July 2024. His training includes completing his medical education at the University of Michigan Medical School in 2014, followed by general surgery residency at the University of Washington in 2021. In addition to clinical training, he also completed a two year research fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, where he worked with organotypic slice culture models of human pancreatic adenocarcinoma to test the impact of combination immunotherapy. His current research in the Wargo Lab at MD Anderson involves assessment of the impact of intratumoral and gut microbiome on tumor immunity and response to immunotherapy, as well as other translational cohort studies analyzing transcriptional immune profiles of rare cancers such as small bowel neuroendocrine tumors.
