Adrian is a general surgery resident In the Department of Surgery at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center and a research fellow at the Center for Healthcare Outcomes & Policy (CHOP), a research centers that aim to improve the efficiency of healthcare in the United States by optimizing clinical practice and informing health policy. Adrian completed his Medical Degree from Virginia Commonwealth UNiversity, a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a fellowship in health policy and health services research through the National Clinician Scholar Program (NCSP). Dr. Diaz’s research focuses on the intersection of health, delivery systems, geography, and policy to optimize access, quality, and value to surgical patients. He has written on several topics including the regionalization of complex operations, health system expansion, hospital closures, and the effect of patients lived environments of access to health care and outcomes from surgery. This work has been published in journals including JAMASurgery, Annals of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Cancer, and Health Affairs.
