Dr. Johnson was born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised on Long Island, New York. He has been a scientific researcher since the age of 14, winning many prestigious awards at the state and local level for his work in high school. He graduated from Columbia University in 2013 with a degree in Race & Ethnic Studies and his undergraduate work culminated in a thesis on health disparities education in health professional schools. In 2018, he graduated from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and has since gone on to General Surgery Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. He has published research on topics that include global health, surgical training, and health disparities. Dr. Johnson is committed not only to the clinical practice of surgery but also to the research of surgical disease and healthcare management. The focus of his career will be improving health outcomes for patients from both from a clinical and administrative perspective.
Dr. Johnson is currently a Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College. His main area of research is in breast oncology. He is a native of Kingston, Jamaica and raised on Long Island, New York. He has been a scientific researcher since the age of 14.
