These optional courses are designed to benefit members of the Society and SSO 2023 attendees with an emphasis practical information for the practicing surgeon. Registrants also wishing to attend SSO 2023 are required to pay the full meeting registration fee.

Intended to provide SSO members and junior faculty with education and support on the grant writing process. Faculty will moderate and organize an interactive session touching on numerous aspects of the grant process, including federal and non-federal funding, grantsmanship, mentoring, and other topics important in establishing a career as a surgeon scientist.
