Dr. Griffin is originally from Waynesboro, GA and attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate studies. He earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicince and completed his general surgery residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency training, he also completed a 2-year research fellowship in pathobiology studying pancreatic cancer and pancreatic cystic neoplasms. After residency, he completed a 2-year fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is double board certified in general surgery and surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Griffin is a surgical oncologist at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, GA where he specializes in malignancies of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, stomach, small bowel, and skin/soft tissue.
