Chandler S Cortina, MD, MS, FSSO, FACS is a Breast Surgical Oncologist, Assistant Professor of Surgery, and Chief of the Surgical Oncology Breast & Endocrine Teaching Service at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a native of Louisiana and obtained a BS in Biochemistry at Louisiana State University and his MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. He then completed a residency in General Surgery at Rush University Medical Center and Cook County Hospital followed by a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center at Northwestern University in Chicago. Since joining MCW, he has obtained a Master's in Clinical and Translation Research. His current research is focused on assessing breast cancer risk and screening in transgender and nonbinary persons in response to gender-affirming surgery and gender-affirming hormone therapy and is funded through PCORI and the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment.
