Implementation science is the study of methods to promote the systematic uptake of evidence-based practices into routine care. Implementation science tries to address the significant gap between interventions that research has shown to be effective and their delivery to patients. This new scientific forum takes the momentum from the 2020 SMFM President’s Workshop on implementation science and help us to continue to incorporate the methods of this emerging field into both the research and practice of maternal-fetal medicine. This Forum focuses on emerging concepts in implementation science and showcases applications of those concepts to obstetrics. In addition, we will take participants through a guided, practical implementation of an Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health bundle of their choice so that they may leave the meeting with an evidence-based action plan.
