Annabelle van Gils (MD) is currently a PhD student in the Obstetrics & Gynecology department from the Amsterdam UMC - location AMC in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In 2011, she started her academic studies at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. There, she completed the first year of Gezondheid & Leven, a study combining the field of biomedical sciences and health sciences, before applying for the Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Amsterdam in 2012. In 2020, she graduated as Master of Science and worked as a physisian in the Obestrics department in the year following. Since 2021, she is working at the obstetrics department of the Amsterdam UMC, combining sonography at the department of prenatal ultrasonography with research. Her research focuses on the mechanisms and prevention of preterm birth.
