Dr. Borders is a Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician with NorthShore University Health System Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Borders received an MSc degree in Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and an MD from Harvard Medical School in 1999. She completed a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship and a NRSA Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Health Services Research at Northwestern University in 2006. In 2007, she completed an MPH degree at Northwestern University. She is the Executive Director and Obstetric Lead for the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a collaborative of over 100 birthing hospitals focused on improving outcomes and equity for birthing persons and newborns. She serves on the Illinois Perinatal Quality Committee, Maternal Health Task Force and Maternal Mortality Review Committee. She is a prior member of the ACOG Committee on Obstetric Practice and the Committee on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. She also serves on the National Network of Perinatal Quality Collaboratives Executive Committee. She is an NIH, PCORI, CDC - funded researcher with a focus on investigating mechanisms and interventions to address perinatal disparities in birth outcomes.
