Dr. David Hackney MD, MS is the Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and associate professor of Reproductive Biology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. A Pittsburgh native he attended Carnegie-Mellon University followed by medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. His residency training was at Ohio State University followed by MFM fellowship and a Master’s in Clinical Research at the University of Pittsburgh / Magee-Womens Hospital. He currently oversees the University Hospital portion of the combined MetroHealth / UH Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship and serves as a Satellite Site PI for the NICHD MFMU.
Dr. Hackney serves as the Section Chair for Ohio for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In this role, he provides written and live testimony to the statehouse as well as advocacy and media engagement for a range of issues including 12 month post partum Medicaid extension and reproductive freedoms. He is currently a member of the multi-stakeholder working group that is planning the future ballot amendment to guarantee access to abortion in Ohio.
