Kim Fortner is a Professor and Vice Chair of Obstetrics Quality and Service in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is the Program Director for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship (@utknoxmfm) and for the hospital, serves as Vice President for Women and Infants at UT Medical Center. Her prior work has been focused on infectious diseases in pregnancy, and current interests include: pregnancy hyperglycemia, intergenerational obesity, and metabolism in pregnancy. Dr. Fortner serves as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology for both the Obstetrics & Gynecology specialty and Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialty certifying exams. She is also the ACOG District VII Maternal Mortality representative and speaks for the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC).
