Dr. Einerson is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) at the University of Utah. His research focuses on placenta accreta spectrum, severe maternal morbidity, quality improvement and patient safety, obstetric and postpartum hemorrhage, and cost-effectiveness. He has ongoing funding from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD, K23HD106009) to study alternative treatments for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS).
Dr. Einerson is clinical expert in diagnosis and management of placenta accreta spectrum disorders (PAS). He is Director of the Utah Placenta Accreta Program. As a busy referral programs for PAS, the program provides comprehensive care for those affected by PAS. He is a Board Member of the Pan American Society for Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS2). In 2020 and 2021 he was co-director of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM) Accreta Scientific Forum. He has been a speaker, lecturer, and podcast guest to discuss PAS for regional and national events including SMFM Post-Graduate Courses and Accreta Scientific Forum, the PAS2 National Conference, the Vanderbilt High Risk Pregnancy Seminar, the Park City Postgraduate OBGYN Course, the Healthful Woman Podcast, and CREOGs Over Coffee Podcast.
Dr. Einerson received his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2011. He completed a Masters in Public Health in 2010 from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2015. Thereafter, he has been at the University of Utah, first for Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship (completed in 2018) and now as faculty in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He is a Fellow of The American Congress of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (FACOG) and is board certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
