Alan T.N. Tita, MD, PhD is UAB John C. Hauth, MD Endowed Professor and Senior Vice-Chair for Research and Innovation in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is also the Director of the Center for Women’s Reproductive Health and Associate Dean for Global and Women's Health at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. Dr. Tita's background is in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Global Health and Perinatal Epidemiology.
Dr. Tita has served as UAB PI of the NICHD Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit's Network Center since 2009 and continues to lead collaborative multi-site and single-site clinical trials and observational studies that influence practice and policy globally focusing on topics such as infections, obstetric complications and hypertension. Dr. Tita serves on the NICHD National Advisory Council and the MFM Division of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
