Elisha Jaeke B.S. (she/her) is a second-year medical student at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her research interests include addressing breast/chestfeeding disparities and reducing adverse pregnancy outcomes. Elisha is also involved in grant writing efforts to support the crucial work of grassroots organizations within birthing communities of color.
Elisha is passionate about medical education and supporting those who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. As co-founder and co-president of First Generation in Medicine – a new student organization at the Medical College of Wisconsin – she oversees programming aimed to guide first-generation students throughout their journey to and through medical school. Additionally, Elisha enjoys serving as a peer educator and works as a Clinical Human Anatomy tutor for first-year medical students. Dedicated to expand medical student knowledge on reproductive justice topics, Elisha hosts workshops as part of Medical Students for Choice and is involved in curriculum redesign efforts.
Prior to medical school, Elisha served as a COVID-19 Contact Tracer for the Wisconsin Department of Public Health and as a Bilingual Public Education Specialist for Berkeley Public Health's Labor Occupational Health Program. She plans to pursue additional public and global health training in the future, and to center her practice as a physician on a foundation of community health and wellbeing.
