Dr. Romeo Galang is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist in the Division of Reproductive Health at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Since 2014, Dr. Galang has served as a maternal and infant health expert in CDC's emergency responses to Ebola, HIV, Zika, COVID-19, and Mpox. He leads efforts to addresses the unique needs of pregnant people and infants during disasters and public health emergencies. Dr. Galang earned his MD at University of Rochester and his MPH in Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology at Tulane University. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics in the Emory University School of Medicine and as an attending physician at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Galang's research interests include public health preparedness and response, emerging threats to maternal and infant health, and reproductive health equity.
