Call for 2024 Proposal Submissions Now Open!


The annual meeting of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM), The Pregnancy Meeting™, will be held February 11 - 14, 2024 at the Gaylord National Harbor in National Harbor, MD. All proposals must be received through the submission site by Monday, May 15.
Status notifications will be sent to submitters by June 30.

The mission of the Society is to provide education and promote research that optimizes the health of high-risk pregnant individuals and their infants. The annual meeting is a centerpiece of the work of the Society, featuring postgraduate courses and workshops, roundtables and expert sessions, scientific forums, and poster presentations. The Pregnancy Meeting™ is the premier event for presenting and learning about cutting-edge science in obstetrics and provides participants the opportunity to connect with leaders and colleagues in maternal-fetal medicine.

2024 Call for Proposal Link

FACULTY DISCLOSURE OF COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIPS
In accordance with the ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence, Global Learning Collaborative (GLC) requires that individuals in a position to control the content of an educational activity disclose all relevant financial relationships with any ineligible company. GLC mitigates all conflicts of interest to ensure independence, objectivity, balance, and scientific rigor in all educational programs. Link to Disclosure of Commercial Relationships form.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
All participants (MFMs and nonMFMs) are required to register for the Annual Pregnancy Meeting scientific sessions. SMFM does not provide speaker honoraria or reimburse speaker travel expenses for faculty in the Scientific Sessions Program.

SMFM provides all postgraduate course faculty participants with complimentary registration for the postgraduate course they are presenting in addition to complimentary registration to the scientific sessions program and expo portion of the Annual Pregnancy Meeting held Monday, February 12 – Wednesday, February 14.

To qualify, speakers must present for a minimum of 20-minutes in a single course. Courses that include keynote presentations from luminaries outside of the subspecialty may apply for a special travel honoraria consideration (up to $1,000 for a half-day course and $2,000 for a full day course). Instructions on how to apply for a faculty travel honoraria exception will be provided upon course approval.

TIMELINE
All proposals must be received by Monday, May 15 via the 2024 Call for Proposal Submission Site. Status notifications will be sent to submitters by Friday, June 30. The following are important dates planners and committee members. 

Monday, May 15:
Course Chair(s) submit their Disclosure of Financial Relationships form.

Monday, July 17: All postgraduate course faculty are provided to SMFM staff to be added to the Faculty Management System.

Monday, July 31: All confirmed faculty can access the Faculty Management System.

Monday, September 11: Disclosure of Financial Relationships form due from all faculty.

Monday, November 6: Draft PPT Presentations due from all speakers for ACCME compliance review and approval.

Monday, December 4: Speakers are notified if they need to make changes to their PPTs prior to presentation.

Monday, January 29: Final presentations due from all speakers.

Friday, February 9: PPTs provided to the AV vendor – speakers will be able to update any PPTs onsite in the Speaker Ready Room.

Monday, February 19: All participants complete the faculty post meeting survey.
