The management of venous disease has garnered considerable interest in recent years, including the publication of federally-supported trials, significant advances in disease-specific technologies, and brisk practice growth. Venous Symposium, in collaboration with the SIR, has taken a lead educational role in venous disease. We will present a multidisciplinary approach to patients with different types of venous disease; diagnosis, management, and long-term care patients will be presented through live patient imaging, supported by audience/panel interaction.

Learning Objectives:

Develop treatment strategies for superficial venous disease using a combination of thermal and non-thermal modalities; specific treatment planning will be performed for the live patient to be imaged during the session.
Understand the pathophysiology, management options, and ongoing research in chronic venous obstruction. Live imaging will be performed on a patient with iliac venous obstruction/post-thrombotic syndrome, and treatment planning for this patient will be discussed.
Recognize the limitations in workup and management of pelvic venous disease, and develop an understanding of ongoing efforts to refine care and improve endovascular management of this entity. Imaging for pelvic vein disease will be discussed in detail highlighting diagnosis of both reflux and obstruction and pelvic escape points, which are important to effective treatment planning.
