The Global IR Juniors Summit was inaugurated in 2021, as a collaborative effort to bring together IR trainee groups from across the world in a single forum to exchange ideas, discuss local experiences, and promote networking. It has been organized by the Resident Fellow & Student Section (RFS) of SIR, European Trainee Forum of the Cardiovascular & IR Society of Europe (ETF CIRSE), British Society of IR (BSIR) Juniors, and the RFS of the Pan-Arab IR Society (PAIRS). The first two summits were in 2021 and 2022 and were hosted on a virtual platform comprising speakers from over 15 countries, and over 750 attendees from more than 60 countries.
The 2023 Global IR Juniors Summit is building off of these efforts and will have the first ever in-person component at the SIR Annual Meeting. We will have 3-hours of unique programming with speakers covering topics from Day-in-the-Life of IRs from around the world, an introduction to trainee networks from across the global, tips on international research, and a collaborative case-based session with the SIR International Scholars.
