The majority of SIR members work in private practice, and the popular perception is that this consists primarily of low complexity procedures. However, unexpected complications and patient desire to receive care at their home institution often require unconventional procedures in community hospital settings.

This session will provide a primer for trainees, IRs and NP/PAs on how to safely perform several unconventional procedures, including US guided visceral pseudo aneurysm embolization, complex venous thrombectomy/recanalization, urologic interventions and bone/soft tissue ablation, to provide effective and expedient patient care.
